In November, endocrinologists and friendly rivals at UNC Health Care challenged Duke Health and several other schools to the Diabetes Dance Dare, a campaign of the American Diabetes Association to raise donations and awareness of diabetes, prevention and management.
Duke Endocrinology graciously accepted the challenge and began choreographing some dance moves. Each dance in the national campaign is supposed to last 23 seconds, representing one diabetes diagnoses every 23 seconds in the U.S.
Then they called on Duke Institute for Health Innovation, Durham County Department of Public Health and Maestro Care Champions to take the challenge and help spread the word about diabetes care.
